Researcher at LAPAN the Centre for Atmospheric and Climate Science, Prof Dr Thomas Djamaludin said the Indonesian people can watch a meteor shower peaks Lyrids on until after midnight before dawn on December 21 to 22 April.
“Indonesia’s territory and the earth’s northern hemisphere region can witness this natural phenomenon. When the peak is around mid December 16 to 26 April, meaning the range of 21 and 22, “he said when contacted Monday (19 / 4) from Jakarta.
Thomas said all areas of Indonesia can watch the Lyrids meteor shower. “All regions can see, as long as fine weather and away from air pollution.”
Lyrids meteors can be seen on the northeast side at midnight and at the side a bit north at dawn or early morning. Lyrids Meteor was in 31-degree angle from the northeast toward the north, Thomas says.
He added that from April 16 the public will be able to see a few meteors that time. But the best time is at its peak on 21 and 22 April.
“During this summit, expected to appear a dozen meteors per hour from midnight until early morning,” explained Thomas.

Lyrid are meteors that appear every year and may be viewed on every night from 16 April to April 25th.
