Coach Joachim Loew has no suspension worries ahead of Sunday's massive clash. Striker Miroslav Klose was suspended against Ghana in their last group game but is available for selection against England. However, Bastian Schweinsteiger is struggling with a thigh muscle problem and there is considerable doubt on whether or not he can start in the midfield.

Italy goes home after 3-2 loss to Slovakia

Defending champion Italy was eliminated Thursday from the World Cup with a humbling 3-2 loss to Slovakia, which advanced.
For the third consecutive game, the Azzurri allowed an early goal and this time they never recovered.

Robert Vittek put Slovakia ahead in the 25th minute, taking advantage of an errant pass from midfielder Daniele De Rossi. Vittek doubled the lead from close range in the 73rd following a corner kick.
Antonio Di Natale scored for Italy in the 81st, but Kamil Kopunek ended Italy's chances eight minutes later, even though Fabio Quagliarella scored in injury time.
It marked the end of an era for Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro and Gennaro Gattuso, who already announced their retirement from the national team after the tournament. Coach Marcello Lippi is also moving on.

England were denied a victory in their opening Group C game against United States after a Robert Green error allowed Clint Dempsey to equalise Steven Gerrard’s early opener.

Korea Republic struggle in World Cup started in 2010 with positive results. 2-0 victory over Greece was recorded by Park Ji-sung et al. With this result, the South Korea for a while at the top of Group B.

South Korea scored in the match in Port Elizabeth Stadium on Saturday (12/06/2010) are each packed by Lee Jung-soo and Park Jisung solo run goal.

This victory brought the team nicknamed "Taegu Knight" led the group B standings with three points from the results once the victory of one game.

A match between former World Cup champions produced an opening day dud, with France and Uruguay playing out a 0-0 draw today in Cape Town, South Africa.
France winger Franck Ribery and Uruguay striker Diego Forlan showed flashes of their potential, but the fear of losing the opening game stifled offensive tactics for much of the match.

World Cup host South Africa has been held to a 1-1 draw against Mexico, after taking the lead before the eyes of 85,000 fans at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
Siphiwe Tshabalala unleashed an unstoppable strike 10 minutes into the second half to give the hosts the lead in the opening match of Group A.
